AFTER having their scheduled fixture at Chard last week cancelled, Watchet Town played their first pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening and chalked up a 4-0 win away to Division One side Street Reserves.

In a competitive workout, the Red and Blacks played some attractive football which was rewarded by a hat-trick from Tom Sparks and another goal from last season’s top scorer Aaron Deeks.

Watchet visit neighbours Bishops Lydeard – who have been promoted to the Western League – next Tuesday before beginning their league programme with six away games in August.

Sadly, the club’s annual five-a side competitions will not be going ahead due to a lack of entries.
