HAVING played ten matches this season, Minehead Barbarians are lying fifth in Counties Two Somerset going into this weekend’s blank Saturday.

“Considering our away form, you have to be happy with such a position,” said head coach Mick Orton. “Everyone wants to be top of the table but that’s not possible.

“Our form at home has been really, really good. We have scored some big wins and conceded few tries.

“The problem - and it’s the same for many clubs - is availability for away games. But on the whole I think we have done pretty well.

“We have won seven of our ten matches, and six of these have been at home. Hopefully, we can start changing things around away from home.

“We’re also pleased with the way the seconds have played so far. They have played six, winning three and losing three.”

Minehead lst XV will be back in action when they play away to second-placed Chew Valley next Saturday, December 2, while the seconds play today away to fifth-placed Hornets in Counties Four Somerset South
