MINEHEAD Barbarians are faced with the almost impossible task of trying to repeat last weekend's performance when they play away to Imperial in Counties Two Somerset tomorrow (Sat).
Babas' head coach Mick Orton ran out of superlatives after describing his side's display in a 41-17 home win over title favourites Taunton.
"It was an outstanding performance - one of the best matches Minehead have seen for many a year. The guys really wanted to win that game.
"It showed on the pitch, even in the warm-up, during the match and after it. It was something special."
The Barbarians go into tomorrow's game at Imperial fifth in the table, while their opponents are down in ninth spot, 22 points behind the Babas.
"As has been the case for much of this season, much will depend on availability," added Orton. "We have to hope we can put out as many of last weekend's squad as possible. How do you improve on last week's fantastic performance."
Minehead have a couple of injuries but none which will worry Orton tomorrow as his team try to win only their second away game of the season. At home Minehead are 100 per cent, but they have lost four on their travels.
Minehead 2nd XV, who are also lying fifth in Counties Four Somerset South, are home to their Yeovil counterparts who are one off the bottom with three victories from ten fixtures. They have also had five points deducted.
Bottom side Wivelicombe have a tough home game against St Ives who beat top of the table Plymstock Albion Oaks 19-12 at home last weekend. Wiveliscombe have a game in hand on the two sides immediately above them - Falmouth and Bideford.
Wiveliscombe 2nd XV play away to fifth-placed Tor in Counties Three Somerset South. Tor would be one place higher if they had not had five points taken away from them.
