SOMERSET have signed Academy all-rounder Jasmine (Jazz) Westley on a short-term contract.

The 21-year-old right-arm off spinner, who bats in the lower order, is a product of the Cambridgeshire Pathway and joined the Sunrisers Academy in 2022.

The University of Exeter student has represented Essex and Sussex in List A and T20 cricket and featured for Glamorgan in both formats this season. Jazz joined the Somerset Academy in 2025.

After signing her contract the all rounder said: “Obviously, it feels really good. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind to be honest but now I’m just looking forward to getting out there with the girls and hopefully contributing to some team success.

“The call up has come a bit out of the blue. I’ve just finished my university exams, and I got a call from Erin and now I’m just excited to play with such a great group of girls.

“To make my debut for Somerset (against Blaze at Exmouth) would be really special. A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes from coaches, S&Cs and physios, so hopefully I can make a good impression on the team and just go from there,”

Jazz added: “I’m not looking too far into the future, but I am looking forward to getting going!”

Somerset head coach Erin Osborne added: “Jazz has been around the squad for a while now and came to South Africa on pre-season camp with us and we’ve been really impressed.

“She’s a young all-rounder; she works really hard and she’s had some great games with the Academy recently. I think she’ll be really handy with the ball and add a little bit more depth with the bat as well. I’m looking forward to seeing her go about it. She’s definitely well prepared.”
