MINEHEAD Second XI travelled to play Bishops Hull First XI in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League - and lost by 69 runs.

Bishops Hull knocked 251 all out, a score based around the Chanter family. Opener Josh made 51, skipper Matt hit a run- a- ball 39 before Morgan blasted his way to 77 off 45 balls.

For the visitors Jithin Rajan took 2-18. Rob Spiers 2-51, while BradenTaylor ended with 4-23.

When Minehead replied openers Sam Cobb and Gergg Howard got them off to a solid start before Cobb was out for 16.

Howard was then joined by Connor Paterson and together they shared a good partnership, but once Howard was out for a patient 41 and Paterson went for 32, the only late order ressistance came from Anan Rajan who made 18 before Minehead were all out for 182.

Kasun Chathuranga snapped up 3-23, while Ruedi Bishop ended with 2-34, Ben Wellman 2-36 and Paul Holman 2-30.
