CARHAMPTON continued their fine run of form when they entertained Wiveliscombe in front of a big crowd - and won by a bumper 192 runs in Division Three of the West Somerset League.

Carhampton elected to bat first with Sam Price setting the early pace, punishing the Wivey bowling attack. Opening partner Paul Keal played his usual calm game but after moving onto 29 he was out.

Magill followed shortly after which James Snel,l who was making a welcome return, hit a quick fire 22.

Price continued to accumulate his runs before he was eventually bowled for an impressive 117, the highest score posted by a Carhampton player so far this season.

Captain Westcott took to the crease and hit 6 off 13 deliveries.

A middle order wobble gave the Wivey bowlers confidence they were seeking.Stew Ford came in to bat and steadied the ship, hitting a patient 24 off of 27 deliveries with some fine boundaries before new signing Tom McCanlis added 13 with some lovely driving shots. Nick Winzer and Justin Harris added a further 46 to stretch Carhampton to 299 all out with just 2 balls of the 40 overs remaining.

Carhampton's opening bowlers soon set to work, with Nick Winzer in fine form, tearing through the opening batters and ending his spell with 4 wickets for just 26 runs and Mat Long one wicket for 35 runs. Magill was ever alert behind the stumps and Wivey were 5 wickets down in the first 10 overs and had a mountain to climb.

Jack Milton took over from Long and put on a solid bowling display with 3 wickets and 2 catches. Stew Ford was energetic in the field and Harris, and Westcott took the last 2 wickets to leave Wivey on 107 all out.

Carhampton took maximum points to continue their fine form and go third.
