KILVE, Watchet and champions Ashbrittle all have 100 per cent records after the first full month of matches in the first division of the West Somerset Cricket League.

Kilve are 23 points clear at the top after Winsford conceded their away match against the leaders, having now failed to fulfil a fixture for the third time this season. It means Winsford are already 41 points adrift at the bottom, having lost the two matches that they have played.

Watchet, who trail Kilve by 35 points but have a game in hand, gained a 44-run victory over Morebath after batting first and scoring 186-8 in their 40 overs. Opener Paul Sparks and Ryan Strong top scored for Watchet with 31, while Ben Robinson scored 26 and Callum Knight 21. Joe Weeks snapped up 3-27 for Morebath.

Morebath were bowled out for 142 with Weeks being their top scorer with 46 while Eben Harding took 4-20, Knight 2-25 and Alastair Harrison 2-33.

Ashbrittle won by a massive 224 runs at home to Over Stowey after scoring 348-4 with opener Mark White top scoring with 82. Sam Shaikh knocked 71, Luke Williams 53 and Steve Grant 51 not out.

Stowey were bowled out for 148 with Grant being the main wicket-taker with 52, while R Embleton took 3-32 and Oliver White 2-10.

Bagborough are lying second in the table after they chalked up their fourth success of the season, beating Brompton Ralph by four wickets. Brompton made 139 all out with Will Ruell hitting 44 and Robert Chiplin 27, while Ross van Aswegen took 3-27, Jack Martin 2-28, Paul York-Smith 2-27 and Matthew Rafill 2-30.

Opener Blake Jones steered Bagborough to victory with 41 off only 36 balls, while Jed Glanvill made 23. B Poole took 2-41. It was Brompton’s fifth loss in five matches.

Bridgetown won by 46 runs against East Huntspill after scoring 260-4 in their 40 overs with Ben Luxton scoring 81, Dan Sizer 70 and Charlie Gliddon 44 not out, while Jason Smith snapped up two wickets. Ollie Watts (55) and Will Fear (52) were Huntspill’s top scorers in their 214 all out with Simon Costello taking 3-35 and James McDermot 3-42.

Crowcombe have opened up a 64-point lead at the top of the second division after they beat Stoke St Mary by six wickets. Stoke were bowled out for 163 with Liam Hill 29 not out while Jaleas Khattak took 5-24 and Matt Warne 2-42.

Jack Lewis (41 not out) saw Crowcombe over the winning line while Richard Baker scored 35 and Luke Willets 34 not out. Paul Gardner took 2-37 for Stoke who are bottom of the table after playing four games.

Sampford Arundel are up to third in the table - even though they have lost two of their four fixtures - after they beat Roadwater by 53 runs. Sampford made 252-4 in their 40 overs with Tobi Jenkins being their star with the bat, knocking 112 not out, while Oscar Milton was 51 not out and Will Crossly made 55. Caleb Laney took 2-27.

Crossley snapped up 4-28 and Milton 4-39 as Roadwater, who have slipped back to fifth in the table, were all out for 199 with Pete Cole top scoring with 46. Kieran Roberts made 38 and Mark Bolton 25.
