CARHAMPTON travelled to play against Stoodleigh in West Somerset Cricket League Division Three on Saturday afternoon - and suffered an eight-wicket loss.
After being asked to bat first the visitors opened with Ryan Cape and Dom Westcott before the latter was out for nine with the total on 28.
Cape then remained out in the middle while wickets tumbled at the other end until he was out for 29 which came off 65 balls, with a 4 and three 6s, making Carhampton 89 for seven.
Clements made 23 lower in the batting order before the visitors were bowled out for 103 in 24.3 overs.
Pick of the Stoodleigh bowlers was Bowker who ended with four for 23 from his seven overs, of which one was a maiden. While there were two each for Francis and Berry.
When the home team replied openers Torrance and Farrimond gave their side a good start, putting on 46 before the latter was bowled by Clements for 11.
Torrance and Berry then took the score onto 76 before the new batter was out for 11. Bowker then joined Torrance and together the pair saw Stoodleigh onto 106 without further loss in 23.4 overs. Torrance ended unbeaten on 44 which he scored off 63 deliveries with seven 4s while Bowker was not out 16.
For the visitors Clements ended with two wickets for 23 from 4.4 overs.
As a result of this game Stoodleigh find themselves in sixth place in the Division Three table with 105 points from their seven games, two of which have been won, while Carhampton are one place above them with two more points from one game less, having also won two.
This coming weekend Stoodleigh host Cannington while Carhampton are next in action on 28th June when they are at home to Ashbrittle Seconds.
