BUCKLAND St Mary and Bishopswood maintained their position at the top of Division Four in the West Somerset Cricket League with a big win over Fitzhead 2nd XI.
The leaders won by 250 runs after piling up 357-4 in their 40 overs after choosing to bat first. Fitzhead never looked like getting the runs and were bowled out for 107 in 28 overs.
Buckland have a 24-point lead at the top of the table over second-placed Wiveliscombe 2nd XI who have two matches in hand. Wiveliscombe were awarded 35 points after Brompton Ralph 2nds cried off. Likewise, Over Stowey took 35 points after East Huntspill forfeited their game while Stoke St Mary conceded their fixture against Spaxton.
Meanwhile, Buckland will be looking to maintain their lead at the top when they play away to East Huntspill on Saturday, August 30.
Wiveliscombe, who have lost only once this season, are home to Stoke St Mary while third-placed Fitzhead have no fixture.
