MINEHEAD’S first-ever parkrun on Saturday attracted 158 people.
Some had travelled from as far afield as Manchester and London to be part of the first run, and many were taking part in a five-kilometre run for the first time, while several people took the opportunity to give their dogs a brisk walk and some families ran together, giving their children a first taste of a fun run.
Minehead parkrun will now take place every Saturday morning starting at 9am from the shelters opposite the Beach Hotel at 8.45am.
Anyone of any ability is welcome, from first timers wanting to get fit to experienced runners, and entry is free - simply go to the parkrun website, print off a barcode and take it along on Saturday.
