TWO boxers Obi Cridland and Jed Chambers, better known as Hollywood, represented Watchet Amateur Boxing Club at an event in Wells.
Chambers was first up competing in front of a full house and vocal crowd against Ben Quinn from Avalon Boxing Club.
Jed put on a good display of long range boxing at times, using his long accurate jab to good effect in attack. But the more bustling aggressive style of Quinn caught the judges attention and his hand was raised in a closely fought split decision.
Next up was Cridland in his fourth contest against a skilful opponent Jamal Baxter from Parkstone Boxing Club. Cridland boxed well from the start, closing down his opponent and landing powerful shots against a clever counter puncher.
At the final bell Baxter’s hand was raised in victory, another razor thin split decision.
Both boxers have returned to training and the club is looking to rematch these two bouts in the near future.
