SOME 130 entrants will line up for the 26th annual Neil Westcott Memorial Road Trial this Sunday (November 27).

They will set off from Minehead Barbarians Rugby Club at 8am to tackle a 70-mile course over Exmoor before returning to the club.

The trial, involving motocycles and sidecars, is not a speed event but a test of riding skill, and is organised by Geoff Westcott for Exmoor Motor Club Ltd.

Geoff is the father of Neil Westcott, who used to help the club but was killed in a road accident on Dunster Straight in 1990.

Geoff said the event was only possible thanks to the co-operation of Exmoor National Park, Minehead Town and Somerset County Councils, Avon and Somerset Police and all landowners including the Forestry Commission.
