THE annual Neil Westcott Memorial Road Trial took place on Exmoor on Sunday.
N Varney won the Neil Westcott Cup after finishing first in the class for bikes up to 225cc, and M Keswick and J Cook from Taunton won the sidecar class to collect the Dave Westcott Cup.
The event attracted some 130 entrants who faced a 70-mile course over Exmoor, starting and finishing from Minehead Barbarians Rugby Club.
It is organised for Exmoor Motor Club by Geoff Westcott in memory of his son Neil, who died in a road accident on Dunster Straight in 1990.
Other class winners were M Hawkins from Minehead (over 450cc), T Pike (226-450cc), A Petherick (pre-1965 bikes) and C Noad (over 65s).
Geoff expressed his thanks to all the marshals and observers who helped on the day, landowners for allowing the use of their land, and Exmoor National Park, Minehead Town and Somerset County Councils and Avon and Somerset Police for their co-operation.
