SOUTH West Fishing For Life (SWFFL) celebrated its 18th anniversary at Wimbleball Lake with 50 guests attending.

Dulverton’s Jan Ross presented the trophies and this year the plate designed by Pauline Clements was awarded to Jane Gilbard, a member for four years who was also on the BBC’ ‘Rise and Shine for Breakfast’ television programme filmed recently.

The programme also featured a male member explaining how he benefited from the fishing while in a very low place in life after a breast cancer diagnosis.

More information about SWFFL is available from Gillian on 01398 371244 or email [email protected] or the group’s website.

Volunteers are always needed to help at monthly meetings with refreshments and fund-raising events if anybody has some free time available.
