A WEST Somerset village school turned yellow for Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day with children and staff arriving in yellow clothes or accessories, while a cake sale raised £235.

Old Cleeve First School, Washford, headteacher Emma Murch said: “It was lovely to see the whole school community getting involved to support such an important cause.”

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition mainly affecting the lungs and digestive system, making breathing and digesting food difficult.

It is a lifelong condition, but improvements in treatment mean people are living longer and healthier lives.

Ms Murch said: “Thank you so much to everybody who baked, donated, and supported.

“It was a wonderful day full of colour, kindness, and community spirit and a great way to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis.”
