WATCHET is gearing up for Easter with two weeks of special events for all the family, ranging from children’s parties and Easter bingo to fossil walks and outdoor theatre.

The fun begins tomorrow (Saturday April 1) with the start of the town’s Easter Bunny trail. Trail sheets are available from Watchet Visitor Centre at £1 per sheet, and there are prizes along the way.

The monthly Watchet street fair will be on the Esplanade on Sunday, April 2 from 10am-4pm and there will be family activities on the East Quay from Monday to Thursday, April 6. Check out the East Quay website for times and activities.

Wednesday, April 5 is the date for the town council spring market on the Esplanade from9.30am to 3.30pm.

On Friday, April 7 there’s Easter Bingo at the Royal British Legion from 6pm - (eyes down 7.30pm - with cash and raffle prizes.

On the same evening Pebbles Tavern presents live rumba/flamenco with Manos Puestos, while at the Esplanade Club, Paul Dark AKA Dredgerman will be appearing from 8.30pm onwards.

The Esplanade Club presents Shakedown Ridge playing Rock covers from 9pm on Saturday, April 8.

Sunday, April 9 will see an Easter children’s party at the Royal British Legion - crafts and games 1pm to 3pm. Live music and entertainment with Amy Andrews from 3pm to 6pm.

On the same day there will also be a children’s party at The West Somerset Hotel, including an Easter Egg hunt and games from 2pm to 4pm. Si Manning plays Reggae/SKA/Two-Tone/Northern Soul/Motown from 6pm.

From Tuesday, April 11 until Friday 14 there will be drop-in family activities at East Quay. Check out the East Quay website for details.

Two days of fossil walks with Geckoella are scheduled for Tuesday, April 11 and Wednesday, April 12. On both days the walks start at 2pm from the Visitor Centre and cost £8 per person, £5 for under 14s. Booking required. 01984 632101 or [email protected]

Thursday, April 13 will see the Pleasure Dome Theatre present “Rosalie”, an outdoor theatre performance at 4pm in the courtyard at the East Quay. Admission free.

On Saturday,  April 15 Hatch Artists’ Fashion Show starts at  8pm at the East Quay. Prepare to be wowed by wearable art!
