MOTORCYCLE riders aged from 11 to 87 years are among 2,000 people who have attended free Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue (DSFR) workshops.

The brigade celebrated its 2,000th attendee, exactly 10 years since launching the ‘Biker Down’ programme.

The lifesaving workshops run in partnership with Somerset Road Safety and Vision Zero South West and are open to motorcyclists of all ages.

The sessions, delivered in Taunton Fire Station and DSFR’s headquarters near Exeter, are led by a team of firefighters, paramedics, the Fire Bike team, and road safety professionals.

The interactive workshops cover essential emergency skills CPR, severe bleeding control, helmet removal, defibrillators, and road traffic collision scene management.

Booking is via the ‘Biker Down’ Facebook page or by emailing [email protected].
