A CHRISTIAN centre in Minehead has been attacked with religious hate crime graffiti for a second time in a fortnight.
A man in his 50s was arrested on February 23 in connection with the first attack on the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, in Mart Road.
The first incident happened between February 15 and 17, where the building was graffitied and a threatening letter and dog faeces pushed through the letterbox.
Separately, a vehicle associated with the religious group was attacked with symbols painted which were associated with the political ‘Far Right’.

Now, more graffiti has been daubed on a wall of the building, referencing the Ku Klux Klan, National Front, and Nazis.
Police said the latest attack occurred between 2 pm on Sunday (March 1) and 6 am on Monday.
An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said uniformed police patrols of the area were being carried out to reassure the community, and CCTV inquiries will be made while investigations continue.
The spokesperson said: “Officers would like to hear from any witnesses, those with information in relation to the incident, and anybody with webcam, CCTV or doorbell footage which could assist with our inquiries.”
Neighbourhood policing Insp Steve Jones said: “We are aware of previous incidents at the hall, and we want to reassure the community that reassurance patrols will continue to be carried out while investigations continue into what is being treated as a hate crime.
“We do not tolerate hate in our communities, are taking this seriously, and would urge anybody with information which could assist our inquiries to contact us.”
Anybody with further information on the latest incident which could help police inquiries is asked to call 101 and give the reference number 5226059104.
The arrested man was released on bail after being questioned and conditions were imposed banning him from some areas of Minehead.
