A SPECIAL weekend break has been announced by Butlin’s to mark the holiday company’s 90th birthday this Easter.
The company’s Minehead holiday resort will host three-nights of birthday celebrations, starting on Friday, April 10, with shows and activities exclusive to the special break.
On the Saturday, to mark the day Billy Butlin officially opened the Skegness site 90 years ago, guests across the company’s three resorts will be treated to a firework and laser display.
As a nod to the year the Lincolnshire resort opened, the fireworks party will start at 19.36 hours before a nine-minute show lights up the skies to celebrate every decade of Butlin’s.
A new birthday party bingo in Reds will include themed games, party dances, and a special moment when the number 90 is called out.
Plus, any guests also celebrating a birthday during the weekend will be treated to their own special moment in the spotlight.
Birthday party bingo will also be added to the programme for guests to celebrate Butlin’s turning 90 on all breaks for the remainder of 2026.
Butlin’s has also launched a nationwide search to find the ‘ultimate Butlin’s family’, with a special invitation to the 90th birthday break in Skegness up for grabs.
To enter the competition, families should head to Butlin’s social pages and show why they should be crowned winners.
The winning family will then be treated like royalty during the weekend.
Butlin’s entertainment director Mike Godolphin said: “Nobody does it bigger and better than Butlin’s, and we have been proudly doing it for 90 years.
“A milestone this special deserves a Butlin’s style celebration to match.
“From the spectacular firework and laser display and incredible entertainment across the weekend, we cannot wait to celebrate with everybody across the three resorts.”
