PUBLIC notices cover a wide variety of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:
Goods vehicle operator’s licence change
A1 Loo Hire Ltd of Silver Birches, Highland Avenue, Wokingham, RG41 4SP is applying to change an existing licence to add an operating centre to keep five goods vehicles at the operating centre at West Park, 26 Westbound Road, Wellington TA21 9AD.
Traffic regulation on Uffculme road
From January 7 to 21, motorists are not permitted to stop on the school entrance clearway on Ashley Road in Uffculme due to an order from Devon County Council.
In Halberton, motorists are not permitted to wait at any time on specific lengths of Church Path, Crown Hill, High Street, Lower Close, Lower Town and Pethertons.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas:
Resurfacing works in Wiveliscombe
TRAFFIC will be prohibited from proceeding along Frys Lane, from the junction with Quaking House Lane, south-westwards for a total of 729 metres.
The work will commence on February 2 and last until February 6 between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm.
The closure will allow Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
Temporary closure of Langford Budville Road
THE Langford Budville Road in Wiveliscombe will be closed for six hours in February to allow Opeanreach to carry out pole replacement works.
Traffic will be prohibited from proceeding along Langford Budville Road for 500 metres north of the junction with Balthealton Road, northwards for a total distance of 191 metres.
The order becomes effective on January 28 and will remain in force for 18 months.
The works are expected to commence on February 5 at 9.30 am and finish at 3.30 pm on the same day.
Restaurant applies for alcohol license
FAUSTO’s Limited is applying for a premises license at their restaurant on 16 Park Street, Minehead, TA24 5NQ.
The proposed licensable activities are to allow the sale of alcohol with food.
