PLEASURE Dome Theatre Company is bringing A Midsummer Night’s Dream to the Valley of Rocks this summer.

And at the time of going to press, open auditions are still being held in Lynton Town Hall on April 10 to find local performers who would like to be a part of the production.

There are two sessions – from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. They will be informal workshop-style auditions involving some text work, some physical work and some music from the show.

Prospective cast members must have good availability from July 6, although there is some flexibility. However, the players must be completely free in the evenings for the run – July 28 until August 8.

Performances will be every night other than Monday with Sunday matinées.

A member of the Pleasure Dome 2019 cast said that creative director Helena Payne and associate director Scott LeCrass made everyone feel equally at home in the auditions, the rehearsal room and on the stage.

“They take any self-doubt you may have and replace it with confidence. They remove fear and replace it with the desire to deliver your absolute best and reward the audiences with epic theatre.

“Pleasure Dome Theatre Company don’t just ‘stage’ plays, they play with the stage - taking the tangible elements that Mother Nature provides and combining them with such delicate craftsmanship behind the scenes.”

Anyone wishing to audition should email [email protected] and specify which session, morning or afternoon, they want to attend.
