DUNSTER First School pupil Isabel Williams met a woman pretending to be a boy and a couple of people dressed up as a cow to mark her award- winning artistic talents. The seven-year-old found herself in the midst of panto season when she was named as the official winner of Minehead Panto People's competition to design a poster for their forthcoming show. The company will be performing the classic tale of Jack and the Beanstalk at The Regal Theatre from January 4 to 12. Isabel's winning design is being featured on the cover of the show's programmes and was chosen from more than 80 entries by Minehead Mayor David Hawkes. Isabel met Kim Francis, on the right, who is playing the lead role of Jack, when she was presented with a family ticket for the show. Also in the picture with the panto cow are Malcolm McNeill, who plays Dotty Dibble in his regular role as the panto people's dame, and Kara Waite, who plays Princess Primrose. James Scott, chairman of Minehead Panto People, said: "It was wonderful to have so many top quality entries from local children who clearly love the pantomime. "It is always a pleasure for us to entertain the children who live in the area at this time of year and Isabel's front cover design for the programme will add that extra local touch." Isabel's design will be on display at the Regal throughout the run of the pantomime, together with the other competition entries. Photo: Steve Guscott
