POLICE are appealing for information after a Minehead religious building was damaged in what may have been an attack by people associated with the political ‘Far Right’.

A Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, in Mart Road, had paint daubed on it, and a ‘threatening letter’ and dog faeces dropped inside.

Separately, a vehicle was damaged with ‘Far Right’ symbols.

Police have been carrying out uniformed patrols to reassure the community, and investigating the incident as ‘religiously-aggravated criminal damage’.

The Kingdom Hall damage occurred between Sunday and Tuesday, February 15 to 17, and the vehicle was attacked overnight on Tuesday-Wednesday.

Police want relevant dashcam or other footage since Sunday, especially from the Mart Road or Glenmore Road area, and are asking people to call 101 and give the reference 5226045306.
