SEVERAL new exhibitors were among the 85 growers and craftspeople who entered this year’s Minehead and District Gardener’s Association Flower Show on Saturday August 11.

Between them, they presented nearly 500 exhibits that turned the West Somerset College hall into a riot of colour.

The standard overall was very high – the floral art and home craft classes exceptionally so – and the number of children’s entries was well up on 2017.

Deputy Mayor Gail Everett presented the cups and trophies, and local businesses and retailers supported the show with sponsorship or by donating raffle prizes.

The show organisers wish to thank the judges, West Somerset College, especially the caretakers, the members and non-members who helped to set up the show and stayed behind to help with the clearing up.
