LONGER term Government funding was needed to tackle ‘challenging conditions’ in Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust said.
Trust director of strategy and digital development David Shannon welcomed Musgrove’s £6.2 million share of a £8.6 million Government award for hospitals in Somerset.
But, Mr Shannon said the trust would continue ‘to seek longer-term investment to address the challenging conditions of our estate, to ensure they are fit for the future’.
He said the £6.2 million would help with vital maintenance updates to some of Musgrove Park’s oldest infrastructure.
Mr Shannon said: “Some of the important areas the money will be spent on include improvements to fire safety, water, and electrical systems, and ensuring our electrical infrastructure is sufficient.”
