RUNNERS and walkers are being encouraged to sign up to this year’s annual Santa fun run organised by the Rotary Club of Minehead.

The event on Minehead sea front will be held on Sunday, November 30, and will be raising funds to be shared between St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and local Rotary projects.

The run follows a shortened version of the Minehead Parkrun route along the sea front with a choice of 2 km or 4 km.

The entry donations will include Santa suits and are £5 for youngsters up to 14 years old, who must be accompanied by an adult, £10 for adults, but half-price if they have their own Santa outfit, and there is also a £15 family entry for parents and children.

Registration starts at 10 am and the run will begin from the Jubilee Clock Tower at 11 am under the watchful eye of chief marshal Peter Conrad.

A Rotary spokesperson said the annual event was an opportunity for all the family to enjoy some fun while helping good causes at the same time.

They said: “Hopefully, some of the Minehead Parkrun enthusiasts will join us.

“You will be able to come along and pay and register on the morning of the event, either with cash or card.

“However, why not make your mind up now and show your determination to contribute by registering and paying online so you can just turn up, check in, warm up, and set off.”

More details pf the event are on Rotary’s website, and tickets can be booked in advance online.

The 2025-2026 Rotary theme is ‘Unite For Good’ and the Minehead club has been using the theme to work with other voluntary groups to help communities in and around Minehead.

Food and energy poverty are high priorities for the club, as are homelessness, young carers, and mental health.
