TWO Minehead Middle School pupils – Toby Williams and Anthony Knight – have been recognised for their initiatives in fund-raising.
Toby won the Haines Award for Service, which is made by the local churchtes to middle school pupils in recognition of service to others and Anthony was highly commended for his involvement in many activities.
Toby supports a variety of causes, including the CLIC Sargent and Matt Thompson organisations for children with cancer to which. He and his grandmother send knitted hats to a project they both support, and he also spends evenings with older people at a local residential home.
Anthony also visits a local residential home and uses his musical abilities to take part in fund-raising concerts, such as the Bumble Band, or to join a busking group at a supermarket.
Christians Together in Minehead chairman the Rev David Croucher said: “These are two admirable young people. They are among the many who give their time and talents for the benefit of others in our area.
“We are glad to recognise that through this award and appreciate the importance that the school attaches to it.”
