PEOPLE flocked to St George’s Playing Field for Huish Champflower’s 60th fete on Saturday, September 2.

The event raised just over £2000 which will be shared between the church, village hall, cricket club and WI.

Among the attractions were ‘Find a Fiver’, a bottle stall, whisky draw and ‘Golden Bucket’ as well as the grand raffle.

There were sporting challenges, too – skittles, children’s races and Jumpee Joe’s bouncy castle.

Many dogs competed for rosettes in the fun dog show, agility course and gun dog scurry.

Books and homemade produce and crafts were available in the hall along with displays of all the show entries.

Refreshments including home-made rolls and cakes were also available in the hall along with hot and cold drinks.

Musical accompaniment was provided by the Wivelele ukulele group from Wiveliscombe accompanied by the whistles of Mike White’s traction engines.

The organisers wish to thank all who made the event possible and those who came along to support it, and the dog show organisers wish to thank the judge, Paul Yates of Deane Vets.
