MORE than 120 homes and other properties on Exmoor lost their electricity supplies for several hours overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday (June 9 and 10) after a tree fell and brought down power lines.
The power outage affected properties in and around Withypool, and also to the north of Exford, and was first reported just after 8.15 pm on Tuesday.
Residents were told there was a fault on overhead high voltage lines.
A National Grid Electricity Distribution spokesperson said: “A fallen tree brought down power lines which disrupted power to 121 customers.
“Engineers carried out repairs as speedily as possible and electricity supplies were restored at 2.41 am.
“We would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding during the work.”
