A SERIES of taster courses is being run in Minehead Old Hospital for people who lack confidence with maths and English.

The four-week courses have been arranged by Skill Up in partnership with Somerset Skills and Leaning and the district council.

One of the aims is to offer friendly, relaxed sessions in order to overcome barriers that were set up by bad experiences at school.

The tasters are free and run from Tuesday (March 3) until March 23 from 9am to 11am.

There are also information sessions: in Williton Pavilion from 5pm to 7pm tomorrow (February 27); Dulverton Library from 10am to midday on Friday, and two in Stogursey Church Rooms, on Monday from 9.30am to 11am and Thursday 5pm to 7pm (March 2 and 5).
