Individuals from across the two sites are supporting the wider community by volunteering in a number of different ways. Some are helping care homes and isolated elderly people while one worker has joined the Taunton Scrubbers group who are sewing scrubs and masks for frontline NHS staff. They have received a £500 donation from Hinkley Point C.
Local businesses within the Hinkley supply chain are also playing their part. Catering provider Somerset Larder has worked with the food charity Fareshare to prepare meals for vulnerable people in the local area.
They are also feeding medical staff working long hours at community hospitals and medical facilities.
