MUSGROVE Park is one of the first hospitals in the South West to open up visiting hours, making it easier for patients’ family, friends and carers to see their loved ones.

Visiting is now from 10am to 9pm, seven days a week. Other times can also be pre-arranged with the ward nurse in charge.

The change follows a successful trial of extended visiting hours and feedback from patients, relatives and staff.

A new Visitors’ Charter has been developed and copies are available on the wards. This gives further details about what visitors can expect at Musgrove.

Martine Price, associate director patient experience, said: “The changes to visiting present us with a real opportunity to reiterate our commitment to carers and we have already received fantastic feedback from carers about the difference it is making for them and their loved ones when they are in hospital.”
