A ROAD near Hinkley Point was closed for a short time on Friday morning (December 19) after two cars were in collision with each other.

The crash, which happened at Otterhampton junction, just outside Combwich, resulted in one person being trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Two fire crews were mobilised to the scene shortly after 10 am from Nether Stowey and Bridgwater.

They used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the casualty, who was then left in the hands of paramedics.

The firefighters made both vehicles safe before returning to their stations.
