PATIENT Mary Ling is pictured trying out one of the special new wheelchairs at Minehead Hospital which Free Press readers have helped to buy.

A promotional event organised in conjunction with Butlins' centre in Minehead and Quay West Radio, raised more than £1,700 for the hospital.

And the money is being used to buy special wide-seated wheelchairs like the one Mary is in and some standard wheelchairs.
