AN Icelandic choir and a quartet with three Hungarians are to give a free, one-hour concert in Minehead on Friday (September 11).

They will feature in a ‘magical hour of music from around Europe’ in St Michael the Archangel Church, in Alcombe, from 7.30 pm.

Making up The Friends Quartet is a local Englishman, tenor Glen Baker, as they sing a varied programme in English, Swedish, and Hungarian, with music from piano and flute.

The others in the quartet are Katalin Wirth, soprano and flute, Monika Balogh, alto and piano, and Marton Wirth, musical director, bass, piano.

The evening also features Iceland’s Choir of Christ The King Cathedral.

Retiring donations will be collected to support the choir funds and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
