MORE than 4,000 people will descend on Minehead for Christmas Day this year and help to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Butlin’s.
The company launched its first resort in 1936 in Skegness, Lincolnshire, and opened in Minehead in 1962.
Two new festive shows have been lined up in the Minehead resort for the festive season, a live band giving classic Christmas songs a rock twist in ‘Christmas Rocks’, and the Robbie Williams tribute show ‘Rock DJ’, featuring his biggest hits.
Youngsters will be able to take a trip in Santa’s magical lift to visit his festive grotto as part of an ever-popular ‘Express Delivery’.
And the Christmas magic will also include a ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ live show in Studio 36, the largest venue in Minehead.
The pantomime will be performed twice during each festive break, alongside arts and crafts sessions, Christmas-themed pool parties, and discos.
Other Christmas attractions include access to the Splash Waterworld pools, fairground rides, and the Skypark playground.
Families can also catch Butlin’s year-round live entertainment, including the new ‘Peppa Pig-Nic Celebration’ featuring ‘Evie Pig and Animals and Mythical Beasts’.
Once Christmas is over, there will still be more to come.
New Year visitors can enjoy a range of live music, parties, and fireworks displays.

Butlin’s entertainment director Mike Godolphin said: "As we wrap up an incredible year of celebrating our 90th birthday, we are ending it on a festive high.
“This time of the year will be made extra-special with non-stop festive shows and activities.
"While most families will be heading to the sofas after their Christmas lunch, our guests can whizz down the slides at Splash Waterworld.

“There is no better place for a well-earned festive getaway and we cannot wait to welcome thousands of guests to Minehead."
