FAMOUS DJ and producer Woody Cook has taken his music to new heights, quite literally, by remixing his soon-to-be-released track whilst floating 2,000 feet above the South West of England in a hot-air balloon.

The broadcaster, DJ and producer transformed a Thatchers Cider hot air balloon into a flying music studio, creating an exclusive airborne remix of his forthcoming track, Sunsets, during a spectacular flight over the Somerset countryside.

Produced by Woody Cook and featuring vocals from reggae legend Brother Culture, Sunsets is believed to be the first track to be remixed live whilst airborne from a hot-air balloon in the UK.

For Woody, the unusual setting became part of his creative process for the track.

“Bristol has become my home, and it's impossible not to be inspired by the creativity that runs through the city,” said Woody.

“Taking this remix 2,000 feet into the sky felt like the perfect way to celebrate the adventurous music scene in the area. It's all about embracing new perspectives, pushing creative boundaries and having fun along the way.

“There's something magical about taking music up into the sky.

“When you're so far above the ground, looking out across the landscape, it gives you a completely different perspective and a huge amount of inspiration. It was the perfect place to create an uplifting remix.”

The remix forms part of a summer of live performances that has seen Woody bring his high-energy DJ sets to festivals and events across the UK.

Next month, fans can catch Woody back on the ground, surrounded by yet more balloons, when he performs at Thatchers Balloon Bar during this year's Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.

Woody is scheduled to perform on Sunday, August 9 from 4 pm to 5.30 pm, bringing his signature festival sound to one of Bristol's biggest and most iconic annual events.
