A FREE concert will be given in Dunster Tithe Barn on Sunday afternoon (May 3) as a culmination of music created during a choral singing weekend in the village’s Yarn Market Hotel starting on Friday.
The choral weekend will be led by Tom Newall, making a return after his first appearance last year, and accompanied by Rachel Fright.
Last year, Tom worked on Poulenc’s ‘Gloria’, but for 2026 has chosen two much older works, Pergolesi’s ‘Magnificat’ and Monteverdi’s ‘Beatus Vir’.
Tom studied in Durham University and the Royal Northern College of Music and is a freelance conductor and musical director of Salford and Congleton Choral Societies.
A spokesperson said: “Tom’s first appearance was very well received by all the singers, and we look forward to working with him again.”
