A NEW water sport has been made available for the first time at Wimbleball Lake.
Thanks to funding from Somerset Council, charity South West Lakes Trust has been able to purchase four eFoil boards for the Exmoor lake.
An eFoil has a surfboard-like deck with a hydrofoil wing underneath. It is powered by an electric motor, controlled by the rider, which lifts the board above the water's surface and allows the rider to glide across the water on the foil alone.
South West Lakes Trust’s head of activities, Matt Lennox, said: “We want to enable as many people as possible to get out on the water and experience the outdoors.
“We believe this is the first of its kind in Somerset, so it’s a really exciting time for us.”
