SIR — We ignore the likes of Molly Groves (Your Letters May 6) at our peril. She is a classic of traditional wisdom and good sense.

I can understand her frustration but it is a shame that she and many like her have given up on the Exmoor Society; it desperately needs the input of folks like her and the other two recent correspondents on these issues.

Many non-members of the society were encouraged to attend the spring conference last week by the report printed in the Free Press.

But I fear it was a very disappointing, even stifling, event saying nothing that we hadn’t heard many times before!
