VILLAGERS are being asked to help clean-up their Exmoor community next week and prepare it for the winter ahead.

Batten down hatches as Storm Bram brings heavy rain and strong windsWootton Courtenay Parish Council clerk Roz Griffin said the village tidy up would be on Saturday, December 6, with residents asked to meet at 10 am on the steps of All Saints Church.
Ms Griffin said: “This is an annual event to clear the drains and tidy up the village, and it is especially important now that we do not have a village lengthsman.
“It helps to prevent surface flooding during winter downpours.
“It would be excellent if lots of people came to help out with this most worthwhile activity.
“Please come dressed in high-vis clothing, and bring brooms, spades, rakes, and any other useful implements for this task.”
