FREE all-day parking will be available at Dulverton, Dunster, Minehead, Porlock, Watchet, Wellington and Williton car parks on the four Saturdays leading up to Christmas.

Somerset West and Taunton Council (SWAT) is offering the incentive to shoppers in order to support traders in towns and villages.

Cllr Marcus Kravis, executive member for economic development, said: “We are keen to give residents and visitors an added incentive to shop in our towns and villages in the festive season.

“I hope that people will take advantage of this opportunity to park for free and support our diverse local traders across the district.”

The free parking offer does not include Minehead Railway Station car park, which belongs to Somerset County Council, or on-street parking.

Parking at all SWAT car parks in Wiveliscombe is free.

SWAT is also offering free parking to support Dunster by Candlelight on Friday, December 6. It will waive charges in the Warren Road Upper car park, opposite Butlin’s, for people using the park and ride service from 5pm.
