dementia charity Reminiscence Learning, based in Wellington, organised three days of events over the weekend to raise awareness of dementia.
The centrepiece was a huge butterfly and dementia awareness installation displayed at the Alan Rogers Centre at Wellington School featuring 9,413 hand-crafted butterflies representing the number of people in Somerset living with dementia.
The charity staged a Celebration Butterfly Dinner on Saturday, a Free Family Funday on Sunday and a Musical Extravaganza on Monday.
The installation was created in partnership with Go Create artists working in eight hubs, including in Wellington.
A cross-section of the local community created the butterflies, from primary school children, teenagers with an interest in social care, carers, individuals with dementia and business people.
