A GLAMOROUS masked ball inspired by ‘Bridgerton’, the smash-hit Netflix Regency-era romantic drama, is planned as a major fund-raiser for St Margaret’s Hospice on Friday, February 20, in Taunton School.
A spokesperson for St Margaret’s Hospice Care said: “While the release of Bridgerton’s latest season may have audiences falling in love with the romance of a masked ball on screen, this black-tie event offers the chance to experience the excitement of a masquerade in real life - while helping to fund compassionate hospice care.”
‘Bridgerton’ follows members of the powerful Bridgerton family as they navigate the scandal-filled marriage market of early 19th-century London and is in the top 10 most-watched English-language television shows.
Guests will be welcomed at the masquerade ball with a drinks reception before sitting down to a three-course dinner, followed by live music, dancing, and entertainment late into the night.
The evening will also include a silent and live auction featuring a range of prizes.
Sponsored by Turnbull Infrastructure and Utilities Ltd, the event brings together local businesses and long-standing supporters for a night that the organisers say can truly make a difference.
All funds raised will support St Margaret’s Hospice, which provides free, expert care for people facing a life-limiting illness, as well as support for their families and carers.
Last year alone, the hospice supported more than 5,600 parents and families, mostly in the comfort of their own homes.
St Margaret’s corporate partnerships fund-raiser Michelle Long said: “This year’s masquerade ball is about coming together for a special night while supporting something far more important.
“Every ticket sold helps ensure we can continue to be there for people across Somerset when they need us most.”
Places are limited and tickets, which cost £70 per person or £675 for a table of 10, are available by visiting the hospice website.
