A WEST Somerset teenager will stand trial on two allegations of rape and sexual assault on young girls.

The Minehead 16-year-old has previously denied raping a 14-year-old girl between October 15 and November 1, 2024.

The youth also denied sexual assault by penetration of a 13-year-old girl between May 31 and July 1, 2024.

He previously appeared in court when the allegations were put to him in December and the matter was adjourned until last Thursday (January 29).

On Thursday, he appeared in Taunton before district Judge Angela Brereton, who adjourned the proceedings for a trial to take place in the same court and set two dates for it in February or March.

The youth cannot be identified because he is under 18 years of age.
