COLLECTORS were on the hunt for a bargain at a major fundraiser in Kilve. The annual Easter Monday antiques and collectors fair is now in its 19th year. Items ranging from 20th century pottery and collectables to fine furniture and jewellery were on display. And although numbers were slightly down on last year's event, it still managed to raise just over £3,500 for the village. Held at Kilve Court, the fair is the main fundraising event for St Mary's Church and is organised by the parochial church council. But in addition to helping fund a range of improvements in the church, organisers also hand out donations to a variety of village charities and organisations. Kilve PCC treasurer Robbie Rutt said this year's event was a tremendous success. "The weather was ideal," he said. "It was a tremendous effort - not least made possible by the army of village helpers who so readily help out on the day." Photo: Rebecca Overton
