WIVEY Grows, the Wiveliscombe-based community gardening project, held an open day at its Langley House site on the outskirts of the town on Saturday.
The group said it had 182 visitors and raised more than £185. Sunflower seeds were sown, compost was put on the no-dig beds, tours were shown around the 11-acre site and the sun shone all day.
The group is aiming to build flower and vegetable patches, to re-establish an orchard, bring a sensory garden to back to life and create a cob pizza oven, among other things.
A spokesperson said: “All will be welcome to come and dig, build, plant, eat, share and learn, alongside a regular group of gardeners who will be facilitating the regeneration of this incredible space.
“From individuals to families, community groups, to forest schools, there will be something for everyone.”
