A TRACTOR was badly damaged by heat and smoke after catching fire in Challick Lane, Wiveliscombe, yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

One fire engine from Wiveliscombe and another from Wellington were sent to the scene and found the tractor about 100 metres from the main road. The fire was extinguished using one foam jet and one main jet.

The cause of the fire was accidental and there was 50 per cent damage to the vehicle by heat and smoke.
