ARSONISTS are suspected to have started a fire that destroyed some two acres of gorse on Dunkery Beacon yesterday afternoon.
The fire crews arrived to find the gorse well alight with strong winds fanning the flames.
Exmoor National Park rangers also attended the scene and the wildfire pump was mobilised from Porlock.
The gorse was destroyed by fire and extinguished with two high pressure fogging units, one hose reel jet and beaters.
