FIRE engines from three stations dealt with a blaze involving a combine harvester and seven and a half acres of standing crops in Crowcombe on Saturday (August 25).

Fire appliances from Williton and Minehead, and a water bowser from Bridgwater, were called to the scene in Cookley Lane at 7pm.

Crews extinguished the fire, which also involved five bales of hay, using drag forks, beaters, hose reel jet, a fogging unit and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.

The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
